This spacious home was designed for a family in a gated community requiring the exterior design to blend with the existing homes and neighborhood. The interior was created to give a modern farmhouse feel with a clean aesthetic and neutral color palette. Many features reflect the family’s travels, history, and love for architecture.

This executive home was designed for an active family of six in a suburb of Huntsville, AL. It is a classic Georgian exterior with countless custom, interior details installed throughout the home. In spite of the traditional interiors, the home remained comfortable and approachable to the young family. It features hand-cut American walnut and Brazilian cherry hardwoods laid in intricate patterns, custom-milled trim, plaster ceiling details, and silk upholstered walls in formal rooms. In the family spaces, durable fabrics and flooring were utilized to make the home family friendly. This home was completed in 2002 by Aesthetics, a full-service interior design firm founded by Elaine Carter in 1998. Although no longer active, Aesthetics’ legacy continues with Ms. Carter’s current Atlanta based company, Atlanta Home Collection.
